Solid wire electrode for aluminium-magnesium alloys
CastoMag 45802
Good corrosion resistance to weathering, seawater, dilute nitric acid and sodium hydroxide solution. Grain refinement through Ti addition. Excellent toughness and ductility. Can be machined and ground. Can be polished to a high lustre and anodised. Permissible operating temperature from -196 to 100 °C (-10 to 100 °C for constrained positions).

Typical examples of use are:
window and door frames, roof structures, cladding and façades in the construction industry; pipework, railings and bodywork in vehicle and shipbuilding, as well as machine parts in the food industry.
Processing instructions
Clean the welding areas. Adjust the heat control during welding to the component, its material and dimensions, preheat solid workpieces to 150 – 250 °C. Weld with short, spray or pulsed arc, prefer pulse-arc technique. Plastic liner and contact tip are recommended for welding aluminium.
