CastoTin I

Lead-containing soft solder based on tin-lead. Low-viscosity solder with good capillary properties. Good wetting. Can be dispensed precisely. Tight, even and clean seams without reworking.

APPLICATIONS
For gap and build-up soldering, e.g:
Unalloyed and low-alloy steels (structural steels, galvanized steels and sheets, case-hardening and heat-treatable steels), high-alloy steels (stainless CrNi steels), malleable cast iron, copper (SF-Cu), brass (CuZn alloys), tombac (low-Zn brass materials), bronze (CuSn alloys), gunmetal (CuZnSnPb alloys), nickel silver (CuNiZn alloys), copper-nickel alloys, nickel, nickel alloys and fine zinc.

Typical applications are
Conductor rails, electrical contacts, bearing shells, containers, jewelry, measuring instruments, measuring, control and shut-off fittings, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, lamp industry as well as optical and precision mechanical instruments.

PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
Clean soldering areas. Round off edges. Mix well before use. If necessary, moisten/dilute solder paste with clean, lime-free water or flux 157 in a separate glass container. Coat soldering surfaces with solder paste.
Preheat the workpiece widely and thoroughly. Do not overheat. Remove corrosive flux residues with warm water.
Heat sources: Flame soldering (acetylene), flame soldering (propane/butane), solder bath soldering, piston soldering, HF induction, resistance heating.
