Solid wire for nickel alloys and corrosion-resistant steels
CastoMag 45654
The austenitic weld metal is work-hardening, cold-tough down to -196 °C and temper-resistant up to 650 °C. High creep rupture strength up to 950 °C. Resistant to wet corrosion in media containing chlorine as well as in acidic, neutral and alkaline aqueous solutions, e.g: Sulphuric, hydrochloric, nitric, phosphoric and hydrofluoric acid, seawater, caustic soda and cooling brine. Scale-resistant up to 1,200 °C in a sulphur-free atmosphere and max. 500 °C in a sulphurous atmosphere. Permissible operating temperature -196 °C to 550 °C.

Applications
For joint welding of corrosion-resistant CrNiMo steels, Mo-alloyed nickel materials and FGD materials, e.g.
and FGD materials, e.g:
X 2 CrNiMoCuN 20-18-6,
1.4529 - X 2 CrNiMoCu 25-20-6,
1.4539 - X 2 NiCrMoCu 25-20-5,
1.4583 - X 10 CrNiMoNb 18-12,
1.4876 - X 10 NiCrAlTi 32-20,
1.4876 - X 10 NiCrAlTi 32-20 H,
2.4619 - NiCr 22 Mo 7 Cu,
2.4641 - NiCr 21 Mo 6 Cu,
2.4856 - NiCr 22 Mo 9 Nb,
2.4858 - NiCr 21 Mo.
as well as for mixed joints of these materials with unalloyed and low-alloy steels, e.g:
P 235 GH, P 265 GH, P 295 GH, P 355 N, 16 Mo 3
Also for joints of cold-tough Ni steels, such as 1.5662 - X 8 Ni 9.
Processing instructions
Clean welding areas. Adjust the heat input during welding to the component, its material and dimensions. Limit the interpass temperature to 150 °C. Weld with short arc, spray arc or pulsed arc, prefer pulse arc technology. Use wire brushes made of austenitic CrNi steels.
Welding positions: PA, PB, PC, PF
Type of current: = (+)
