CastoWig 45505 WS

The ferritic-austenitic weld metal is particularly resistant to pitting, crevice and stress corrosion cracking in chloride-containing media up to operating temperatures of 250 °C. Lowest permissible operating temperature -40 °C.

CastoWig 45505 WS can be used for build-up welding of pump parts, drainage pipes in all
all industrial sectors, screws, fittings in chemical plant and tank construction as well as in off-shore technology and shipbuilding.

Processing instructions
Clean welding areas. Match the heat input to the base material during welding. Keep the interpass temperature between 100 °C and 150 °C. Avoid rapid cooling of the workpiece, preheat to 100 °C for better austenite formation. Weld with moderate heat input (0.5 to 2.5 kJ/mm). Ensure a continuous supply of filler material.
Form sufficiently for root welds. Use wire brushes made of austenitic CrNi steels.
