TIG welding rod for corrosion-resistant surfacing and dissimilar joints
CastoWig 45554 WS
Largely fully austenitic, non-magnetizable weld metal. Resistant to thermal shock. Scale resistant up to 850 °C. Corrosion resistant up to 300 °C. The lowest permissible application temperature is -110 °C. Work hardening.
Technical data
EN ISO 14343 - A: W 18 8 Mn
AWS A5.9: ER307 (mod.)
Material no.: 1.4370
Applications
For mixed joints between stainless, austenitic steels, e.g:
1.4301 - X 5 CrNi 18-10 (X 5 CrNi 18-9),
1.4308 - GX 6 CrNi 18-9,
1.4401 - X 5 CrNiMo 17-12-2 (X 5 CrNiMo 18-10),
1.4408 - GX 6 CrNiMo 18-10,
1.4435 - X 2 CrNiMo 18-14-3 (X 2 CrNiMo 18-12),
1.4541 - X 6 CrNiTi 18-10,
1.4552 - GX 5 CrNiNb 18-9,
1.4571 - X 6 CrNiMoTi 17-12-2,
1.4573 - X 10 CrNiMoTi 18-12,
1.4581 - GX 5 CrNiMoNb 18-10,
1.4583 - X 10 CrNiMoNb 18-12
and unalloyed and low-alloy steels, e.g:
P 265 GH, 17 Mn 4, 15 Mo 3, StE 355 N.
Also for welding overlays and buffer layers on the materials mentioned and on hardenable steels.
Processing instructions
Clean welding areas. Limit interpass temperature to 150 °C. Ensure a continuous supply of filler metal. Form sufficiently for root welds. Use wire brushes made of austenitic CrNi steels.
