Solid wire electrode for difficult-to-weld steels
CastoMag 45507 S
Ferritic-austenitic weld metal with scale resistance up to 1150 °C. Resistant to corrosion, cavitation and impact.
Technical data
EN ISO 14343-A: G 29 9
AWS A5.9: ER312
Mat.
Applications
For welding hardfacing, joining and buffer layers on hardenable and difficult-to-weld steels such as austenitic manganese steel X 120 Mn 12, CrNiMn steels and unalloyed/low-alloyed structural steels of higher strength, as well as for dissimilar joints between different materials.
Processing instructions
Remove cracked and otherwise damaged material. Clean the welding area. Match the heat control during welding to the component, its material and dimensions.
Limit the interlayer temperature to 250 °C for large weld cross-sections. Weld austenitic manganese steels without preheating, as cold as possible (below 250 °C). Weld with short, spray or pulsed arc, prefer pulse arc technique.
