Seamless flux-cored wire electrode for high-strength, quenched and tempered fine-grain steels
EnDOtec DO*257
Seamless Ni-Cr-Mo alloyed metal powder flux-cored wire electrode for inert gas shielded arc welding of low-alloy, high-strength fine-grain steels. Perfectly suited for series production or maintenance and repair, where absolutely perfect welding results, efficiency and productivity are required. Excellent single and multi-layer weldability. The wire is characterised by its good weldability, a smooth and shiny weld surface, spatter- and slag-free weld and its high mechanical quality values.
Technical data
EN ISO 18276-A: T 69 6 Mn2NiCrMo M M 1 H5
AWS A5.29: E110T15-M21A8-K4-H4
Applications
Especially recommended for fabrication and maintenance work on the following steels, e.g.:
S 690 QL, StE690, NAXTRA 63 & 70, WELDOX 700, etc.
Processing instructions
Completely remove cracked or damaged material by grinding.
Avoid severe hardening at thermally cut edges and weld preparations. The preheating temperature of the base material depends on its carbon equivalent (Cev) as well as the size, thickness and shape of the workpiece. Castolin Eutectic recommends:
- Cev < 0.2: preheating not absolutely necessary
- Cev 0.2–0.4: preheat to 100–200°C
- Cev 0.4–0.8: preheat to 200–350°C
Welding positions: PA, PB, PC, PD, PE, PF
Current type: = (+)
Shielding gas:
(recommended) M21; 82 % Ar, 18 % CO2
(alternative) M21; 75 % Ar, 25 % CO2
Approvals
TÜV, DB, CE
