EnDOtec CaviTec GMA

Designed to withstand severe cavitation and erosion damage

EnDOtec CaviTec GMA cored wire
Ø 1.2mm, 15.0 kg

Basic coated rod electrode with 130 % yield for cavitation and corrosion-resistant coatings

CaviTec with its improved properties is an austenitic alloy with controlled amounts of chromium, cobalt, silicon and manganese. The finely tuned balance of these elements significantly improves work hardening and shock-absorbing properties. The result: improved cavitation and erosion resistance.
CaviTec has been proven to last up to six times longer than conventional stainless steel alloys.
This heavy-duty, work-hardening austenitic stainless steel offers maximum protection for areas that require frequent or extensive repairs. The weldability of CaviTec in all positions also makes controlled overlaps and profiling very easy.
Under cavitation stress, the γ-austenite phase undergoes a change in shape through twinning and becomes α-martensite. Such phase transformations and subtle twinning effects absorb the energy of shock waves and microjets created by imploding vapor bubbles in water. In simple terms, CaviTec is rapidly work-hardened (up to 450 HV) at the surface under cavitation stress.
