GMAW metal cored wire for semi-automatic and robotic welding of cast irons
Endotec DO*636, Ø 1.2mm, 15.0 kg
Metal powder cored wire electrode with stable arc, low heat input and spatter formation, especially for automatic or mechanised cast iron welding of GJL, GJS and cast iron with steel. The alloy is characterised by particularly low thermal expansion. Material: 1.3912 ‘Invar 36’.
Technical data
Special alloy Ni 36
Hardness: ~ 140 – 160 HB
Applications
For joining and coating highly stressed components made of spheroidal graphite cast iron and grey cast iron. It is also possible to carry out joint welding between the aforementioned cast iron types and steels.
Typical applications include pump and valve housings, crushers, machine beds, turbine races and repair work on castings.
Processing instructions
Conventional and pulsed arc power sources can be used. The Puls-Arc technique ensures that the parameters and heat input are optimally matched.
Remove worn or damaged material with ChamferTrode 03 (DC) or 04 (AC).
Preheat large components and components with complicated stress characteristics to 200 – 300 °C. Torch angle 70 – 80° for horizontal welding positions and 60 – 70° for fillet welds.
Machining can be carried out with normal cutting tools.
Welding positions: PA, PB, PC
Current type: = (+)
Inert gas ISO 14175:
