TIG welding rod for stainless steels
CastoWig 45552 WS
Niobium-stabilized, austenitic weld metal with a low δ-ferrite content. Resistant to intergranular corrosion up to 400 °C. Scale resistant up to 800 °C. The lowest permissible operating temperature
is -196 °C.
Technical data
EN ISO 14343 - A: W 19 9 Nb
AWS A5.9: ER347Si
Material no.: 1.4551
Applications
For joint welding of non-stabilized and stabilized CrNi steels, e.g:
1.4301 - X 5 CrNi 18-10 (X 5 CrNi 18-9),
1.4306 - X 2 CrNi 19-11 (X 2 CrNi 18-9),
1.4308 - GX 6 CrNi 18-9,
1.4541 - X 6 CrNiTi 18-10,
1.4550 - X 10 CrNiNb 18-9,
1.4552 - GX 5 CrNiNb 18-9,
1.4948 - X 6 CrNi 18-11,
1.6905 - X 10 CrNiNb 18-10
as well as corresponding clad steels and for surfacing these materials.
Alloy-like joint welds in chemical apparatus and tank construction, in pipeline construction, in the food and beverage industry, in the textile and cellulose industry and in dye works. Also for applications on sealing surfaces of fittings and flanges.
Processing instructions
Clean welding areas. Limit interpass temperature to 150 °C. Ensure a continuous supply of filler material. Form sufficiently for root welds. Use wire brushes made of austenitic CrNi steels.
