TIG welding rod for heat-resistant surfacing
CastoWig 45351 W
Martensitic weld metal with embedded carbides and retained austenite. Very good tempering resistance and high high-temperature strength up to 500 °C. Excellent wear resistance against fatigue and adhesion. Adjustment of the service properties by heat treatment.
Can only be machined in the soft annealed condition.

Applications
For the repair of tools made of alloy-like steels and for the manufacture of hot-working tools made of unalloyed and low-alloy steels.
Typical applications are
Hot shear blades, hot trimming tools, hot pressing and piercing mandrels, punches and jaws for screw production, forging dies, impact dies and die casting molds.
Processing instructions
Remove cracked or damaged material. Clean welding areas. Adjust the heat input during welding to the component, its material and dimensions. Preheat hardenable steels to 300 - 450 °C. Ensure a continuous supply of filler material.
