Dispersion-hardening alloy
EnDOtec DO*6070N
Cored wire electrode Ø1.6mm, 15kg
Metal powder cored wire for welding under shielding gas. Ideal for series production as well as for maintenance and repair work where high demands are placed on reliability, performance and productivity.
Slag-free weld metal based on FeCrC with a high proportion of extremely hard special carbides.
The weld metal is extremely wear-resistant to abrasive and erosive stresses.
This alloy produces a weld metal with finely dispersed precipitates in an austenitic microstructure that achieves excellent abrasion resistance with both fine and coarse mineral particles and retains its properties even at high temperatures (58 HRC at 600 °C; 42 HRC at (800 °C).
Technical data
Hardness: 69 HRC (pure weld metal)
Applications
Designed for wear protection of components against abrasion and erosion caused by fine to coarse mineral particles. Suitable for a wide range of base materials, such as unalloyed and low-alloy steels and manganese steels.
Typical areas of application are:
Steel mills, cement plants, waste disposal plants, power plants, wood panel plants, foundries, agriculture, mining, etc.
Specific parts:
Sinter crusher stars, fan blades, blast furnace chutes, exhaust fans, cyclones, conveyor belts, mixer blades, guide vanes, scrapers, press and conveyor screws, screens, etc....
Processing instructions
Welding equipment
EnDOtec cored wire electrodes are suitable for most conventional DC power sources. Optimum performance is achieved with equipment with a programmable pulsed arc. Castolin recommends wire feed systems with 4 knurled rollers for Ø 1.6 mm and plastic or graphite cores.
Preparation
Remove old weld metal and worn metal with ChamferTrode 03/04.
Preheating
Preheating depends on the carbon equivalent of the steel and the size of the workpiece, its thickness and geometry.
Castolin Eutectic recommends:
CE < 0.2: Preheating not required
CE 0.2 - 0.4: Preheating at 100 - 200 °C
CE 0.4 - 0.8: Preheating at 200 - 350 °C.
It should be noted that 12-14 % Mn steels must never be preheated and the temperature of the workpiece must be kept below 250 °C during welding.
Welding positions: PA, PB, PC according to EN ISO 6947
Type of current: = (+)
Storage and packaging
The EnDOtec wire electrodes are wound onto a recyclable red plastic spool (EN ISO 54), spool (EN ISO 544: S300) with a standard weight of 15 kg. The outer packaging offers optimum storage protection. Store in a dry place.
