Ceramic powder for wear- and corrosion-resistant coatings
MetaCeram 28010
Metal-free oxide powder with high chemical resistance in the entire pH range. Excellent abrasion resistance due to its high hardness, but not suitable against fatigue. Laser engraving for anilox rollers possible. Powder suitable for use with flame spraying and atmospheric plasma spraying. The surface roughness can be set very low by grinding.
Technical data
Hardness [HV 10]: 1,500*
DIN EN 1274: ~ 12.8
Grain size distribution [μm]: 45/22
Applications
For flame spraying without melting of unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steels and the corresponding cast steel grades.
Typical application examples are:
Rollers in the printing industry, plungers, hydraulic cylinders, shaft sleeves and sliding bushes.
Processing instructions
Remove damaged material. Round off or chamfer edges. Clean spray areas, preheat to 50 - 150 °C and roughen. Spray on a layer of primer powder in the preheated state. Maintain spray coat temperature between 50 °C and 150 °C and apply up to the desired coat thickness. Maintain a layer thickness of 0.6 - 0.7 mm. Allow to cool in still air.
Sprayer: CastoDyn DS 8000
Primer powder: ProXon 21021
*The achievable hardness values depend on the selected spraying parameters, preheating temperatures, etc. No guarantee can therefore be given that the hardness values will be achieved.
