CastoMag 45640 Ti cored wire electrode

for non-alloy cast iron welds

CastoMag 45640 Ti

Stainless weld metal based on NiFe. Very high ductility. Residual welding stresses are reduced by plastic deformation. The high Mn + Ti content binds the carbon in the fusion zone. This results in a low tendency to crack and reduced susceptibility to porosity.

Technical data
DIN EN ISO 1071: S C NiFe-2
Material no.: ~ 2.4472

Applications
For non-alloy joint and build-up welding (cast iron cold welding) of cast iron
with lamellar or spheroidal graphite, austenitic cast iron, white and black malleable cast iron as well as joint welding with steel or cast steel, also for production welding.

Typical applications are
Pressing and drawing tools, large valves and gate valves, components made of ductile cast iron (GJS), rolling mill cylinders and sealing rings.

Processing instructions
Clean welding areas. Limit interpass temperature to 150 °C. Weld with short, spray or pulsed arc, pulse arc technique preferred. Use wire brushes made of austenitic CrNi steels.

Welding positions: PA, PB, PC, PF, PG
Type of current: = (+)
Shielding gas: EN ISO 14175: M12 Inoxline C2 (max. 2.5 % CO2 - rest % Ar);
M13 Inoxline X2 (max. 2 % O2 - 98 % Ar)

Approvals
TÜV, DB (43.024.07), CE
