More than 100 years ago, in 1906, Jean-Pierre Wasserman in Lausanne, Switzerland, began to develop a soldering iron for repairing grey cast iron by soldering. This was the basis for the founding of the family business Castolin, which manufactures soldering irons, welding electrodes for special and general applications, welding machines, materials and equipment for hot spraying and abrasion resistant sheet metal.
