Soft solder for aluminum, iron and copper materials
AluTin 51
Cadmium-containing soft solder based on lead-tin. Tight, clean seams. Good wetting and flow properties.
Technical data
Soft solder DIN EN ISO 9453: not classifiable
DIN 1707: SnPbCd alloy
Melting range: 160 - 240°C (Sol./Liq.)
Density: 9.6 g/cm³
Applications
For soft soldering, e.g.:
Aluminum alloys, copper and copper alloys (brass), unalloyed and low-alloy steels (structural steels, case-hardening and heat-treatable steels), high-alloy steels (stainless CrNi steel) and lead.
Typical application examples are
Components of electrical circuits, trim strips, sockets, floats and cooling systems.
Processing instructions
Clean soldering areas. Round off edges. Coat soldering surfaces with flux. Heat the tip of the soldering rod and dip it into the flux. Preheat the workpiece widely and continuously. Do not overheat. Remove corrosive flux residues.
Heat sources: Flame soldering (acetylene; soft, slightly reducing), flame soldering (propane/butane), oven (with and without shielding gas), resistance heating.
Delivery form
AluTin 51: solder wire on spools
Flux
AluTin 51 L
