CastoMag 45640 Ti cored wire electrode

for non-alloy cast iron welds

CastoMag 45640 Ti

 Corrosion-resistant welding material based on NiFe. It offers very high ductility. Welding stresses are reduced through plastic deformation. Due to the high content of Mn and Ti, carbon in the molten zone is bound, resulting in low susceptibility to cracking and reduced porosity.

Technical data
DIN EN ISO 1071: S C NiFe-2
Material no.: ~ 2.4472

Applications
For dissimilar joining and overlay welding (cold welding of cast iron) of lamellar or nodular graphite cast iron, austenitic cast iron, white and black malleable cast iron, and for welding connections with steel or cast steel. Also suitable for fabrication welding.

Typical application examples include:

  • Press and drawing tools, large valves and gates, ductile cast iron components (GJS), mill cylinders, and sealing rings.

Processing instructions
Clean the welding areas. Limit the interpass temperature to 150°C. Use short arc, spray arc, or pulse arc welding, with preference for Pulse-Arc technique. Use wire brushes made from austenitic CrNi steel.

Welding positions: PA, PB, PC, PF, PG
Type of current: = (+)
Shielding gas: EN ISO 14175: M12 Inoxline C2 (max. 2.5 % CO2 - rest % Ar);
