TIG welding rod for nickel alloys and mixed joints
CastoWig 45655 W
The Ni-based weld metal is resistant to wet corrosion up to 400 °C, such as pitting, crevice and stress corrosion cracking in oxidizing and reducing media, e.g. seawater, formic and acetic acid. Scale resistant up to 1,100 °C and max. 550 °C in sulphurous atmospheres.
Technical data
EN ISO 18274: S Ni 6276 (NiCr15 Mo 16 Fe 6 W 4)
AWS A5.14: ERNiCrMo-4
Material no.: 2.4886
Applications
For joint welding of nickel alloys and nickel casting materials, e.g:
2.4610 - NiMo 16 Cr 16 Ti,
2.4819 - NiMo 16 Cr 15 W,
2.4856 - NiCr 22 Mo 9 Nb
and compounds of these alloys with unalloyed and low-alloy steels, such as
P 265 GH and S 255 N to S 355 N
as well as with high-alloy CrNi steels, e.g:
1.4529 - X 2 NiCrMoCu 25-20-6,
1.4539 - X 2 NiCrMoCu 25-20-6,
1.4583 - X 10 CrNiMoNb 18-12.
Typical application examples are
Joints and surfacing on components that are in contact with organic and chloride-containing media, as well as on components of flue gas desulphurization and waste incineration plants.
Processing instructions
Clean welding areas. Adjust heat conduction during welding to the component, its material and dimensions. Limit the interpass temperature to 150 °C. Ensure a continuous supply of filler material. Form sufficiently for root welds. Use wire brushes made of austenitic CrNi steels.
Welding positions: PA, PB, PC, PE, PF
Type of current: = (-)
Shielding gas: EN ISO 14175 - l1 (100 % Ar)
