The gas-cooled TIG torch (tungsten inert gas) plays a crucial role in TIG welding. Here are some important tasks and functions of a gas-cooled TIG torch:

Heat dissipation: one of the main tasks of a gas-cooled TIG torch is to dissipate the heat generated during the welding process. During TIG welding, concentrated and intense heat is generated at the tip of the tungsten electrode. The gas flow in the torch cools the electrode and the surrounding components, thus preventing overheating and maintaining the optimum operating temperature.

The electrode must be properly cooled to maintain its structural integrity and prevent premature wear.

The handle is often insulated to protect the operator from heat transfer and ensure a firm and secure grip.
