Flux cored wire for impact-resistant welds
EnDOtec DO*05
Slag-free flux cored wire with austenitic FeMnCr weld metal. Work hardening. Resistant to surface disruption caused by strong impacts and high pressures. Crack-free multi-layer welds. High toughness. Non-rusting. Suitable for machining.
Technical data
DIN EN 14700: T Fe 9
Hardness: 220 HB
– work-hardened: 400 HB
Applications
Suitable for overlay, joining and repair welding of wear-resistant austenitic manganese steels as well as for overlay welding of unalloyed and low-alloy steels, tempering and tool steels.
Typical examples of use are:
Jaws and cones of crushers, excavator parts, grinding and pan grinder rollers, baffle plates, grinding plates, caterpillar tracks, wagon spring seats, crane runway rails, switch frogs, chain wheels, conveyor rollers, wheel flanges, hammers and impact bars as well as crosspieces.
Processing instructions
Remove any cracked or damaged material. Clean the welding area. Adjust the heat input to the component according to its material and dimensions during welding.
Keep the interpass temperature as low as possible. Weld austenitic manganese steels as cold as possible (below 250 °C) without preheating. We recommend using a plastic liner and contact tip as for welding aluminium.
