for wear-resistant coatings
Eutalloy ChromTec 10680
Self-flowing metal powder based on NiBSi. Withstands impact stress. Can be machined. Resistant to oxidation and corrosion, even at high temperatures. Resistant to adhesive wear. Low coefficient of friction with metallic sliding friction. Smooth coatings that are not susceptible to cracking. For operating temperatures up to 800 °C.
Technical data
Hardness [HV 30]: 240*
Grain size distribution [μm]: 20 - 125
Melting interval (Sol./Liq.) [°C]: 1,030 - 1,270
Working temperature [°C]: 1,070
Density [g/cm³]: 8.1
Applications
For thermal spraying with simultaneous melting of unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steels and the corresponding cast steel grades as well as cast iron materials and nickel alloys.
Typical application examples are
Production and repair of glass molds subject to wear in the glass industry, also for shafts, bearings, eccentrics, keyway edges, plastic and casting molds as well as crankshafts and journals.
Processing instructions
Remove damaged material. Clean spray areas. When spraying, adjust the heat to the component, its material and dimensions. To protect the surface against oxidation, spray on a thin layer and melt in while adding more powder. Allow to cool in still air.
Preheating:
GJL: 600 - 800 °C
Steel: 300 - 400 °C
*The achievable hardness values depend on the selected spraying parameters, preheating temperatures, etc. No guarantee can therefore be given that the hardness values will be achieved.
