GreenFlux 1602 brazing flux Powder

Flux without CMR substances

GreenFlux 1602
Flux without CMR chemicals (carcinogenic, mutagenic reprotoxic)

GreenFlux 1602 is a flux consisting of a mixture of complex potassium salts, borates and fluoroborates, without boric acid and SVHC substances. It is suitable for capillary solder joints with high silver content alloys, copper-phos and copper-phos-silver alloys.

GreenFlux 1602 is used for ternary and quaternary alloys including CuP/CuPAg alloys.

Applications

GreenFlux 1602 is used for capillary brazing of joints with ternary and quaternary alloys including high silver, CuP, and CuPAg alloys.

Procedure for Use

Preparation

  • Clean the joint surfaces and round off any sharp edges if necessary.
  • Degrease the parts with an appropriate solvent if necessary.
  • GreenFlux 1602 can be mixed with distilled water to create a paste to apply using a brush to coat the surfaces of the parts to be bonded together. The flux reduces surface oxides, promotes the capillary action of the filler metal, and acts as a temperature indicator.
  • Place the parts in their definitive position. Adjust the welding torch to obtain a neutral flame. Uniformly heat the parts to be joined up to the bonding temperature. Put the rod tip on the joint, melt a drop, and spread it with a continuous movement of the flame. The alloy will be distributed to the hottest areas of the surfaces to be joined.
  • Melt the filler metal until the joint has been completely filled.

Cleaning

  • GreenFlux 1602 residues are water-soluble. They are generally removed by washing in hot water or by wiping with a damp sponge.
  • Mechanical cleaning can also be used.

Packaging and Storage

  • Red and yellow plastic packaging.
  • Storage at room temperature in a dry place.
