Soft solder for aluminum, iron and copper materials
Castolin 1827
Silver-containing soft solder based on cadmium-zinc. Narrow melting interval. Excellent wetting and flow
and flow properties. Tight, clean seams. Cold resistant down to - 200 °C.
Technical data
Soft solder DIN EN ISO 9453: not classifiable
DIN EN ISO 3677: S-Cd80Zn18Ag2
(DIN 1707: ~L-CdZnAg2)
Melting interval [°C]: 270 - 280 (Sol./Liq.)
Density [g/cm3]: 8.5
Tensile strength: [N/mm2]: 150 - 180
Applications
For soft soldering, e.g.:
Aluminum, aluminum alloys, copper and copper alloys (brass), unalloyed, low-alloyed and stainless steels, and joints of aluminum with copper, copper alloys and steels.
Typical application examples are
Components of electrical circuits, electrotechnical components, cables, pipes, filters, trim strips, sockets and floats. Cooling systems, metal goods, fittings.
Processing instructions
Clean soldering areas. Round off edges. Coat soldering surfaces with flux. Heat the tip of the soldering rod and dip it into the flux. Preheat the workpiece widely and continuously. Do not overheat. Remove corrosive flux residues.
Heat sources: Flame soldering (acetylene), flame soldering (propane/butane), soldering iron, resistance heating.
Delivery form
Castolin 1827 bare filler rod, Ø 2.0 x 500mm
