CastoMag 45355 Solid wire

CastoMag 45355, Ø 1.2 mm, 15.0 kg

Martensitic hardenable weld metal. Tough and ductile martensite. Can be machined in the as-welded condition. Increase in wear resistance, hardness and deformation resistance by artificial ageing. Can be nitrided.

Applications
For hardfacing cutting edges on punching tools and cold shears, as well as for wear-resistant hardfacing on stamping, drawing and folding tools and aluminium die casting tools.

Processing instructions
Remove any cracked or damaged material. Clean the welding areas. Generally, weld without preheating, as cold as possible. Limit the interpass temperature to 150 °C. Preheat and apply a single layer of hardenable base materials, then apply the other layers as cold as possible. Ensure a continuous supply of additional material. Use the stringer bead technique with low energy input per unit length.
