Applications
For gap brazing, also in series production, e.g: Unalloyed and low-alloy steels (structural steels, case-hardening, heat-treatable and nitriding steels), high-alloy steels (stainless CrNi steels), nickel, nickel alloys, copper and copper alloys as well as malleable cast iron (GTW) and hard metals.
Typical applications are
Containers, apparatus, fittings, piping as well as equipment and machinery in the food industry such as dairies and breweries; surgical and optical instruments in medical technology; apparatus for heating and cooling technology.
Processing instructions
Clean soldering areas. Round off edges. Coat soldering surfaces with flux. Heat the tip of the soldering rod and dip it into the flux. Preheat the workpiece widely and continuously. Do not overheat. Remove any corrosive flux residue.
Heat sources: Flame soldering (acetylene; neutral to reducing)
Delivery form
Castolin 1020 XFC: flexible flux-coated solder rod
