High-silver, cadmium-free brazing alloy for hard metals and iron materials
CarbiBraze 1701
Nickel and manganese-containing, high-silver, cadmium-free brazing solder. A low-viscosity alloy for connecting hard metals to steel beams. Results in clean, strong and tough solder connections. Can be used for soldering points with operating temperatures up to 200 °C.

Brazing alloy EN ISO 3677: B-Ag38ZnCuMnNi680/700
Melting interval [°C]: 680 – 700 (sol./liq.)
Soldering temperature [°C]: approx. 700
Shear strength [MPa]: approx. 200
(HM/steel - according to DIN EN 12797)
Density [g/cm³]: 8.8
Applications
In addition to iron and copper alloys, CarbiBraze 1701 is particularly suitable for gap brazing hard metals and difficult-to-wett materials such as tungsten, tantalum and molybdenum.
Typical application examples are:
Carbide-tipped tools such as E.g. drills, milling cutters, circular saws and scrapers.
Processing instructions
Clean soldering surfaces, round off edges. Acetylene burners, air/fuel gas burners can be used as heat sources.
Burners, induction and resistance heating can be used. Don't overheat. The workshop and workplaces must be adequately ventilated during soldering.
