Solid wire electrode for heat-resistant surfacing
CastoMag 45353, Ø 1.2 mm, 15.0 kg
Martensitic weld metal. Heat and scale resistant up to 900 °C. Tempering resistant up to 550 °C. High resistance to abrasion, adhesion and cavitation as well as combined wear mechanisms. Good corrosion resistance to many salt solutions, especially seawater.

Applications
For deposition and fusion welding on corrosion and scale resistant chromium steels with a ferritic or martensitic structure, as well as for welding the cover pass of joints made with austenitic weld metal on chromium steels.
Typical applications include:
Components subject to corrosion and wear in the chemical and detergent industry, dairies (fittings, pumps, turbines, nozzles, pipes, containers) as well as wear parts that are exposed to high temperatures, such as hot trimming stamps and press moulds for rubber, glass or plastics.
Processing instructions
Remove any cracked or damaged material. Clean the welding areas. Adjust the heat input during welding to the component, its material and dimensions, and preheat to 200–400 °C if necessary. Weld with a short, spray or pulsed arc; pulsed arc technique is preferred. Allow to cool in still air. Temper welded connections at 650 – 750 °C.
