Solid wire electrode for nickel, copper and iron materials
CastoMag 45660 S, Ø 1.2 mm, 15.0 kg
The NiCu-based weld metal is resistant to cavitation and sliding abrasion – lubricated and unlubricated. Operating temperature range from -10 °C to 400 °C (mixed joints up to 300 °C).
Good corrosion resistance against:
- water – distilled, neutral, hard, soft; seawater, saline solutions;
- salts – neutral, alkaline; sodium and calcium chloride, hypochlorites (< 2% Cl);
- mineral acids – sulfuric, phosphoric, hydrofluoric, silicic and hydrochloric (< 20%);
- organic acids - acetic, tartaric, oxalic, citric, formic and fatty acids;
- caustic alkalis - caustic soda and potassium hydroxide solutions;
- dry gases - ammonia, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen, hot steam, hydrogen,
sulphurous combustion gases.
Technical data
EN ISO 18274: S Ni 4060 (NiCu30Mn3Ti)
AWS A5.14: ERNiCu-7
Mat. ref.: 2.4377
Applications
For the alloy-similar joint welding of
2.4360 - NiCu 30 Fe
and dissimilar joints with unalloyed and low-alloy steels, e.g.:
P 265 GH, 17 Mn 4
as well as materials within the analysis limits according to AD 2000-Merkblatt HP 0, Table 1. Furthermore, for dissimilar joints between
2.0872 - CuNi 10 Fe,
2.0882 - CuNi 30 Fe and P265 GH.
Typical examples of use are:
pipes, fittings, containers, apparatus, heating coils, evaporation elements, pumps, valve parts, mixer parts, heat exchangers, vapour extraction devices, as well as pickling hooks and baskets from coking plants, the chemical, salt, food and pharmaceutical industries.
Processing instructions
Clean the welding areas. Adjust the heat control during welding to the component, its material and dimensions. Limit the interpass temperature to 150 °C. Use a short, spray or pulsed arc when welding; use pulse-arc technology if possible. Use wire brushes made of austenitic CrNi steels.
