Solid wire electrode for copper materials
CastoMag 45704, Ø 1.2 mm, 15.0 kg
High electrical conductivity. Compared to pure copper, the weld metal has a higher high-temperature strength, higher creep strength and higher softening temperature. High work hardening capacity.
Technical data
EN ISO 24373: S Cu 1897 (CuAg1)
Mat. ref.: 2.1211
AWS A5.7: ERCu
Applications
For alloy-similar joint welding of low-oxygen copper as well as wrought copper
alloys and cast copper materials, e.g.:
2.0040 - OF-Cu,
2.0070 - SE-Cu,
2.0076 - SW-Cu,
2.0090 - SF-Cu
and for build-up welding on copper alloys and unalloyed ferrous materials.
Welding of copper types containing oxygen with an O2 content of more than 0.02% is not recommended.
Typical examples of use are:
Components in the chemical, paper, food and textile industries, as well as in shipbuilding, such as conductor rails, electrical contacts, pipelines, containers, flanges and fittings.
Processing instructions
Remove any cracked or otherwise damaged material. Clean the welding areas. Adjust the heat control during welding to the component, its material and dimensions, preheating solid workpieces to 600 °C. Weld with a short, spray or pulsed arc, preferably using the pulse arc technique.
Welding positions: all except PG (f)
Current type: = (+)
Shielding gas EN ISO 14175:
I1 (100 % Ar);
I3 Argon - Helium (max. 95 % He - rest Ar)
