TIG welding rod for copper-aluminum alloys and overlays
CastoWig 45751 W
Non-crack-prone, work-hardening weld metal. High ductility and toughness. Passivation makes it corrosion-resistant to salt solutions, seawater, acetic and sulphuric acid. Non-porous.
Technical data
EN ISO 24373: S Cu 6100 (CuAl8)
Material no.: 2.0921
AWS A 5.7: ERCuAl-A1
Density: 7.7 kg/dm³
Melting range: 1,030 - 1,040 °C
Applications
For joining and surfacing alloy-like materials, steels and cast iron.
Typical applications are
Ship propellers and pump impellers, heat exchangers, coolers, seawater evaporators and condensers; corrosion and wear-resistant surfacing of slide valve seats, turbine blades, bearing shells, coupling forks and ship propellers.
Processing instructions
Remove cracked and otherwise damaged material and cast skin on ferrous materials. Clean welding areas. When welding ferrous alloys, adjust the heat input to the component, its material and dimensions; do not heat CuAl alloys above 300 °C. Ensure a continuous supply of filler material. Form sufficiently for root welds.
Welding positions: all, except PG (f)
