CastoWig 45703 W weld metal

for copper-tin alloys

CastoWig 45703 W

Homogeneous weld metal. Increased hardness and strength due to work hardening. Low coefficient of friction and high wear resistance with metallic sliding friction. Good corrosion resistance to drinking water, industrial water and seawater. Resistant to various organic acids, such as formic or citric acid.

Technical data
EN ISO 24373: S Cu 5180 (CuSn6P)
Material no.: 2.1022
AWS A5.7: ~ERCuSn-A

Applications
For joint welding of copper and copper alloys such as CuSn, CuZn and CuSnZn alloys to each other and for mixed joints.
alloys and for mixed joints with steels, cast iron and nickel materials;
also for build-up welding of these materials.
Typical applications are
Sliding surfaces of bearing points, guide rails, worm spindles and impellers, gear wheels, bushes, cams, coupling claws, slide valve seats, tap plugs, pump impellers, bells, plastic castings
as well as repairing cavities and machining defects on new castings.

Processing instructions
Remove cracked and otherwise damaged material. Clean welding areas. Adjust the heat input during welding to the component, its material and dimensions. Preheat solid workpieces made of copper alloys and copper in particular to 200 - 600 °C. Ensure a continuous supply of filler metal. Form sufficiently for root welds.
