CastoWig 45701 W TIG welding rod Ø 2.0mm

for copper-nickel alloys

CastoWig 45701 W

Heat-resistant weld metal with high resistance to erosion and cavitation. Permissible operating temperatures up to 300 °C. High corrosion resistance against:

  • all types of water (fresh, brackish, river, sea and industrial waste water)
  • Water vapor up to 250 °C and its condensate
  • Non-oxidizing acids (non-aerated, diluted hydrochloric acid
  • hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid up to 100 °C, phosphoric acid)
  • alkalis (caustic soda and potassium hydroxide solutions, ammonia solutions in low concentrations and alkaline salt solutions).

Technical data
EN ISO 24373: S Cu 7158 (CuNi30)
Material no.: 2.0837
AWS A5.7: ERCuNi

Applications
For joint welding of alloy-like Cu alloys, e.g:
2.0862 - CuNi 5 Fe,
2.0872 - CuNi 10 Fe 1 Mn (CuNi 10 Fe),
2.0878 - CuNi 20 Fe,
2.0882 - CuNi 30 Fe 1 Mn (CuNi 30 Fe)
as well as for welding these materials to each other and for mixed joints with unalloyed
steels P 235 GH, P 265 GH; also for overlay welding.
Typical applications are
Components subject to corrosion such as fittings, heat exchangers, fittings and pumps as well as propellers in apparatus, plant and shipbuilding.

Processing instructions
Remove cracked and otherwise damaged material. Clean welding areas. During welding, adjust the heat input to the component, its material and dimensions. Buffer weld seam flanks of unalloyed steels with a filler of the type "NiCu 30 Fe". Ensure a continuous supply of filler metal. Form sufficiently for root welds.

Welding positions: all, except PG (f)
Type of current: = (-)
Shielding gas: EN ISO14175 I1 (100 % Ar) or R 1 Inoxline H 2 (2% H2 -residual Ar)
