for copper materials
CastoWig 45706 W
Good corrosion resistance to atmospheric influences, even in industrial and marine atmospheres. Work-hardening and cold-tough weld metal. Almost the same color as pure copper.
Technical data
EN ISO 24373: S Cu 6560 (CuSi3Mn1)
W.-No.: 2.1461
AWS A5.7: ERCuSi - A
Applications
For joint welding of copper, copper-zinc and copper-silicon alloys, e.g:
2.0220 - CuZn 5,
2.0230 - CuZn 10,
2.0240 - CuZn 15,
2.1322 - CuMg 0.4,
2.1323 - CuMg 0.7
and for build-up welding of copper alloys and unalloyed ferrous materials.
Welding of oxygen-containing copper grades with an O2 content of more than 0.02 % is not recommended.
For welding copper forgings and copper castings as well as for the manufacture of refrigeration systems (gas separation plants).
Typical applications are:
Boilers, tanks and their linings, heat exchangers, distillation and evaporation plants from the chemical, sugar and paper industries as well as from waste water plants. Also for connecting
earthing rails of electrical systems.
Processing instructions
Remove cracked and otherwise damaged material. Clean welding areas. During welding, adjust the heat input to the component, its material and dimensions, preheat solid workpieces up to 600 °C. Ensure a continuous supply of filler material. Form sufficiently for root welds.
Welding positions: all, except PG (f)
Type of current: = (-)
Shielding gas: EN ISO14175 I1 (100 % Ar)
