Flux-cored wire for heat-resistant surfacing
EnDOtec DO*04
Slag-free metal powder flux-cored wire. Stainless weld metal based on FeCrCoMo. Not prone to cracking. High resistance to sliding abrasive wear by metallic counter-bodies. High resistance to hot abrasive wear and deformation as well as tempering resistant up to 650 °C. Resistant to thermal shock and temperature changes. Cold-working. Can be machined using a boron nitride or diamond-tipped tool.
Technical data
DIN EN 14700: T Z Fe3
Applications
For the build-up welding of low- and high-alloy steels and cast steels, as well as cast iron materials.
Typical examples of use are:
hot drawing rings, aluminium die casting tools, tools for hot pressing of sheet metal parts, forging tools such as stretching rollers and bending jaws, guide parts for glass fibre production such as spindles and pins, sealing surfaces on shafts, slide wedges, valve cones, seat rings in shut-off and control valves.
Processing instructions
Remove any cracked or damaged material. Clean the welding area. Adjust the heat input during welding to the component, its material and dimensions. Use a short, spray or pulsed arc when welding; pulsed arc technique is preferred. A plastic liner and contact tip as for welding aluminium are recommended.
