for wear-resistant coatings
Eutalloy RW 12112
Heterogeneous metal powder mixture of diluted matrix component and tungsten carbides. Coatings with NiCrBSi matrix and embedded, finely dispersed hard materials. High wear resistance against sliding, galling, grain sliding and grain rolling wear. Corrosion resistant. Withstands pressure and light impact stress. Optimum surface protection with layer thicknesses up to max. 1.5 mm.
Technical data
Coating hardness [HRC]: 63*
Grain size distribution [μm]: 38 - 125
Tungsten carbide/matrix: 35/65
Melting interval (Sol./Liq.) [°C]: 980 - 1,150
Working temperature [°C]: 1,040
Applications
For thermal spraying with subsequent melting of unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steels and the corresponding cast steel grades.
Typical applications are
Extruder screws, mixer blades, fan blades, wire drawing disks, calibrating, roller table, deflection and straightening rollers, perforated mandrels, molded parts, pump plungers and conical rollers from ring rolling mills.
Processing instructions
Remove damaged material. Round off or chamfer edges. Clean spray areas, preheat to 50 - 150 °C and roughen. Spray to the desired layer thickness in the preheated state. Do not exceed a layer thickness of 1.5 mm.
Heat the workpiece to working temperature and melt the spray coating (within 15 minutes). The working temperature can be recognized by the metallic sheen of the molten state. Do not overheat/overtime. Allow to cool in still air.
Spraying device: CastoDyn DS 8000
Melting: Flame burner (acetylene, neutral to reducing), oven, HF induction
Shrinkage: 20 % during melting
*The achievable hardness values depend on the selected injection parameters, preheating temperatures, etc. No guarantee can therefore be given that the hardness values will be achieved.
