EutecTrode 6800 Coated electrode

Electrode for steels and nickel alloys

EutecTrode 6800

The fully austenitic weld metal of the rutile-basic coated electrode is resistant to wear and oxidation (scaling) up to 1,200 °C. Corrosion resistant to acids and salts. The NiMoCrFeW alloy is impact resistant and suitable for work hardening.

Technical data
ISO 14172: ~ E Ni 6276 (NiCr15MoFe6W4)

Applications
For the build-up welding of steels, cast steels and nickel alloys, as well as for joint welding. For corrosion and wear resistant claddings on components of pickling plants, contact surfaces
in shut-off and control valves, transport equipment in furnaces, annealing and hardening plants, as well as for machine and plant components subject to hot wear, such as forging dies, hammer saddles, hot-hole mandrels, blades of hot shears, tips of stripper tongs, forging manipulators, stretching rollers and hot pressing tools.

Processing instructions
Remove any cracked or otherwise damaged material. Clean welding areas. Re-dry at 350 °C / 2 h. Adjust the heat control during welding to the component, its material and dimensions.
Hot-working tools made of high-alloy steels should only be build up in a single layer using a high current. To build up thicker coatings, weld the intermediate layers with Castolin XHD 6806.
Use the stringer bead technique with low heat input for joint welding. For workpieces with restricted shrinkage, first alloy the flanks. Use wire brushes made of austenitic CrNi steels.
