Gas-Schweißstab für hoch abrasionsbeständige Auftragungen

Ultimium 8880

Weld metal with very high tungsten carbide content. Corrosion-resistant, tough matrix. High wear resistance against abrasion and erosion. Can be applied without mixing. Coating thicknesses of up to 10 mm ensure optimum wear protection.

Technical data
DIN EN 14700: C Ni20
Brazing temperature: 1,100 °C

Hard material grain size: 0.6 - 1.0 mm

Hardness
Matrix: 400 HV 30
Tungsten carbide: up to 2700 HV 1

Applications
For application on unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steels, tool steels and corresponding cast steel and cast iron alloys.

Typical applications are
abrasively stressed components such as teeth of wheeled excavators, mixer blades for the sand-lime brick and ceramics industries, processing plants for molding sand, sludge pump parts and screw conveyors as well as scrapers from mixers.

Processing instructions
Clean welding areas. Preheat the workpiece over a wide area or completely to 300 - 350 °C. At the start of the coating process, raise the preheating temperature locally to 600 - 700 °C. Melt off the filler metal during further heating to brazing temperature. To improve wetting and ensure even distribution of the tungsten carbides, keep the filler metal in contact with the base metal. When gas welding, set a neutral to reducing flame. Allow to cool in still air.

Welding positions: PA, PB
