Castolin 7330 D Coated rod electrode

for non-alloy-related deposition and joint welding

Castolin 7330 D

The basic-graphitic coated rod electrode produces a high-strength weld metal based on NiFe. Not prone to cracking. High current carrying capacity. Easily removable slag. Stable arc.

Technical data
DIN EN ISO 1071: E C NiFe-1 3
AWS A5.15: ENiFe-Cl

Applications
For non-alloy-related deposition and joint welding (cast iron cold welding) of cast iron materials such as cast iron with spheroidal graphite, malleable cast iron and lamellar grey cast iron, as well as for joints between cast iron and steel or cast steel, and for production welding of castings. Very suitable for joint welding of ductile cast iron pipes in accordance with DVS 1502.

Typical applications include:
welding of nozzles, outlets and wall flanges according to DVS leaflet 1502 T1 and T2 (issue 11/95) on ductile cast iron pipes on cast iron and steel according to DIN EN 545 or DIN EN 969 for public gas and water supply pipelines.
It is also used to weld machine bases, pump and gear housings, and deep-drawing tools.

Processing instructions
Remove cracked and otherwise damaged material, as well as casting skin. Clean the welding areas. Re-dry at 150 °C for 2 hours. If possible and the conditions allow, preheat the component to 150 °C to a maximum of 300 °C. Weld with short stitch beads as cold as possible (≤ 300 °C).
Weld workpieces that are difficult to shrink with short beads (1 – 3 cm long). Hammer the weld beads while they are still red-hot immediately after welding.
Welding positions: all except PG (f)
Current type: = (+) or ~
