for cutting applications
EnDOtec DO*15
Slag-free flux-cored wire electrode with martensitic weld metal and embedded carbides. Hot-work tool steel based on FeCrMoW. Not susceptible to cracking even with multiple layers. Resistant to fatigue due to pressure and impact. High heat resistance and tempering resistance up to 600 °C. Resistant to abrasion and cutting.
Technical data
DIN EN 14700: T Z Fe3
Applications
For build-up welding of hot-work and high-speed steels and for the manufacture of tools made of unalloyed and low-alloy steels.
Typical applications are
Forging dies, trimming tools, shear blades, hot work tools and molds, drill bits, hammers and blow bars of crushers.
Processing instructions
Remove cracked or damaged material. Clean welding areas. When welding, adjust the heat input to the component, its material and dimensions. Preheat to 300 - 400 °C for multi-layer, crack-free applications. Weld with a short, spray or pulsed arc, preferably using pulse arc technology.
Plastic guide core and contact tip as for welding aluminum are recommended.
