Cobalt hard alloy for wear protection
EnDOtec DO*70, Ø 1.6mm, 15.0kg
Slag-free flux cored wire. High temperature resistant Co-based weld metal. Very high erosion and cavitation resistance. Resistant to abrasion, pressure and moderate impact at high temperatures. Heat and scale resistant up to 900°C. Corrosion resistant. Low coefficient of friction with metallic sliding friction. Resistant to adhesive wear (even without lubrication).
Technical data
DIN DIN EN 14700: T Co2
~AWS A 5.21: ER CCoCr-B
Hardness: ~ 48 HRC
Applications
For the build-up welding of unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steels, tool steels and corresponding cast steels, as well as nickel-based alloys.
Typical examples of use are:
- hot-working tools subject to low thermal shock, such as forging dies, hot shearing blades, hot trimming and punching tools and hot piercing mandrels;
- workpieces subject to high thermal stress, such as running or sealing surfaces on water, gas, steam and acid valves, shaft seals, valve seats and cones of combustion engines and crushing machines for chemical products.
Processing instructions
Remove any cracked or damaged material. Clean the welding area. Adjust the heat input during welding to the component, its material and dimensions. Preheat to a minimum of 450 °C for welding. Do not fall below the preheating temperature during welding. Use a short, spray or pulsed arc, preferably with the pulsar technique. Allow to cool in still air.
Plastic guide liner and contact tip as for aluminium welding are recommended.
Welding positions: PA, PB, PC
Current type: = (+)
Inert gas: ISO 14175 - I1 (100 % Ar)
