Cobalt hard alloy for wear protection
EnDOtec DO*80
Slag-free flux cored wire electrode with high temperature resistant weld metal on Co basis. High hot hardness and hot wear resistance. Resistant to tempering and thermal shock.
Resists wet and high-temperature corrosion. Scale resistant up to 1,000 °C. Low coefficient of friction for metallic sliding friction. Resistant to adhesive wear (even in the absence of lubrication). Can be machined. High deformation resistance and work hardening.
Technical data
DIN EN 14700: T Co1
AWS A5.21: ER CCoCr-E
Hardness: ~330 HV 30
- work hardened: ~500 HV 30
Applications
For the build-up welding of unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steels, tool steels and corresponding cast steels, as well as nickel-based alloys.
Typical examples of use are:
hot-working tools such as trimming tools, shear blades, ingot grippers and hot-hole mandrels; components subject to wear and corrosion such as extruder screws, pressing and drawing tools,
sealing surfaces in control and shut-off valves (valves and gate valves); components subject to thermal stress such as hardening grids, flare heads, burners and other furnace components.
Processing instructions
Remove any cracked or damaged material. Clean the welding area. Adjust the heat input during welding to the component, its material and dimensions. Preheat to min. 450 °C for welding. Do not fall below the preheating temperature during welding. Weld using a short, spray or pulsed arc; use pulse arc technique if possible. Allow to cool in still air.
We recommend using a plastic liner and contact tip suitable for welding aluminium.
