for alloy-like cast iron welds
EutecTrode 2-26 D
Basic graphite coated stick electrode for hot cast iron welding. Weld metal can be made ferritic or pearlitic-ferritic by heat treatment. It corresponds to unalloyed cast iron with nodular graphite. Smooth arc with uniform material transition.
Technical data
DIN EN ISO 1071: E C FeC-GF 1
AWS A5.15: ECl
Applications
For alloy-like production, construction and repair welding (hot cast iron welding) of cast iron with nodular graphite GJS, e.g:
0.7040 - GJS-400-15,
0.7043 - GJS-400-18U-LT,
0.7050 - GJS-500-7,
0.7060 - GJS-600-3
as well as for cast iron with lamellar graphite, GJL and cast iron with vermicular graphite GJV.
Processing instructions
Remove cracked and otherwise damaged material as well as the casting skin. Thermally work out cracks and drill off crack ends. Clean welding areas. Preheat small and simple workpieces to at least 450 °C, solid workpieces up to 670 °C for GJS and 550 °C for GJL. Use line bead technique.
Ferritizing heat treatment:
Annealing at 920 °C - 2 h, cooling in the furnace to 700 °C, equalizing for 2 h, further cooling in air.
Perlitizing heat treatment:
Annealing at 900 °C - 2 h (from preheating temperature), cooling in air to 450 °C, stress-relieving annealing at 550 °C - 3.5 h without intermediate cooling.
Allow workpieces to cool slowly in the oven.
Welding positions: PA (w)
