EnDOtec DO*519 S Flux-cored wire

Flux-cored wire for cladding and dissimilar metal joints

EnDOtec DO*519 S, Ø 1.2 mm, 15.0 kg

Rutile-basic flux-cored wire designed for fabrication, joints and overlays where high reliability and dependability are required.
Recommended for joining and fabricating where dissimilar steels are welded (dissimilar joints), such as CrNi steels with non-low-alloy steels.
Fully austenitic weld metal with approx. 20 % δ-ferrite.
Excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and pitting. Admissible operating temperatures between -120°C and +400°C. For dissimilar joints, the maximum operating temperature is 300°C.

  • High arc stability.
  • Low heat input, low dilution.
  • Excellent weldability in all positions.
  • Easy slag removal.
  • High deposition rate.

Processing instructions

  • Welding equipment
The flux cored wire DO*519 S is fully compatible with conventional power sources. Programmable units with pulsed arcs provide optimum performance.

  • Preparation
Before welding, the workpiece must be provided with a bevel for X or V welds, which is particularly suitable for thick welds. The areas to be welded and the surrounding area must be kept particularly clean.

  • Preheating
Preheating is not normally necessary for stainless steels. However, if ferritic steel is to be joined to austenitic steel, it may be necessary to preheat the ferritic area, depending on the type and size of the workpiece to be welded.

  • Welding parameters
Welding current and polarity: DC= (+)
    Stick-out: 15 – 20 mm
    Ø (mm) 1.2
    Voltage (V) 20 – 34
    Current (A) 120 – 280

  • Welding technique
To achieve a better penetration for welds where several passes are required, the welding torch must be held at an angle of 70 – 80°.

  • Machining the weld
The weld metal can be machined or ground and can be cut with a gouging torch (Arc-Air) or a plasma arc.

  • Shielding gas
    Recommended gas: 82% Ar, 18% CO2 [ISO 14175 M21]
    Alternative gas: 98% Ar, 2% CO2 [ISO 14175 M12]
    Flow (l/min): 14

  • Welding positions
PA, PB, PC, PD, PE, PF, PG [ISO 06947]
